F.A.Q.
Unfortunately, I don’t take custom orders. I feel like accepting custom work can sometimes take the creativity out of my process.
If I ever do decide to accept custom work, I will make an announcement via Instagram.
Definitely! Buying and wearing Indigenous art from Indigenous artists is appreciation, not appropriation.
The only time I wouldn't sell to a non-Indigenous person is if it was a ceremonial or spiritual piece. Even in that case, I would prefer gifting or trading ceremonial pieces over selling them.
Sales will not be on a speific date anymore. Completed pieces will be up in the shop as soon as they are posted on social media.
Unfortunately, it would be impossible for me to be able to let everyone know individually. I post the pieces that will be available on Instagram and will announce the sale dates multiple times through posts and stories.
Most of my pieces are not vegan. I bead on and back my pieces with traditionally tanned moose or caribou hide and sometimes use animal hair or fur. Using these materials honours my tradition and culture. It also is more sustainable than the alternatives since those animals also fed and sustained families in Indigenous communities.
